Paint it Black!
This is our builder stock cabinet Kitchen. It is nice, but I like to be different and wanted a more custom look. But I don't like custom price tags. So I made a plan. First project was creating a custom island. Les and I put bead board($20 sheet I got for $5 because of a little damage) and trim around the back three sides of the island.
Then I had these curtain Corabelles that I got from DI for $1.00 a piece. We glued in a wooded closet door knob and painted it out and glued it on the island. I gave everything a coat of black paint, distressed it with sandpaper and then a clear protective top coat.
