Stop the madness and relish the Joys!

I wonder if any of you are like me.  You have about 100 ideas floating around in your head.  There are so many plans for almost every square inch of my house it could boggle your brain.  And then to top it off I'm always on the look out for more ideas.  I'm really quite sick!  But somewhere in my mind life still goes on and I still do my motherly duties.  And I find joy in the little funny things in life.  Like last week when Jaysen's Jr. High had spirit week.  Not many kids dressed up, but he had a ball and went all out.  Here's what he looked like on Nerd Day.  He even had a nerd walk!  Look close and you can see his real glasses under the big fake 80's glasses.  (Funny how the big glasses from my high school days are geek glasses now!  When I was young my kids small glasses were called geeky!)

Here he is on Retro day, he could pick the 50's, 70's or 80's.  (Hey, I'm from the 80's)  I thought he looked great, but most the kids at school wondered what he was dressed like! 

My nephew Marcus and Branden share the same birthday month so we had cake and ice cream for both families and grandparents.  So thankful we are close enough to do!

Last joy I want to share was a great family home evening.  Ashlee had a great idea for treat and activity.  We made Ice cream faces.  We had a lot of fun and got to eat them.  My kids are so smart and creative! Try it in your family.   This one is Jaysen's.

And last of all mine.  Not sure what kind of creature it is.  Just went with the ice cream shape!  I love Family Home evening.  It stops the world and for a few hours there's nothing but our family.  We don't answer the phone, and just have a good time.  Some weeks are better than others.  But over all they turn out fun!
