Tumor Time

Hi, this is a post about me!

In just a few hours I will be changing the way I do things for a little while.
I have had a tumor in my leg bone for about ten years.
(No it isn't malignant.)
But I have lived with the pain long enough.
So today they will be drilling out the tumor and taking some bone from the back of my ankle to but back where the tumor was.
I think the worse part for me is I can not walk for two weeks.
My instructions said I'm only allowed to walk to the bathroom or emergencies like earthquake or fire.
Which of coarse I will need crutches for.

The following pictures may help you see why this will be so hard.
 Here's what I do!

Get the picture?
I'm always doing something!!
 That's what makes me happy.
I also have a hard time being the one being served!
I love serving others but it's harder to be on the receiving end.
This will be and adventure!!
Wish me luck!!!

Praying for a speedy recovery for you.

I know what you mean, I've been nursing a stress fracture in my foot and for a couple of days couldn't walk at all, then with a walking boot but it has been slow going and so painful.

Try to adhere to their instructions so you're up and around in no time.

Good luck! You are in our prayers. I know this will be a big adjustment for you, but taking care of your health is important. You'll be back on your feet in awhile and back to your normal routine.

When I injured my back years ago and couldn't lift anything for several months it was SO HARD. I had to rely on Mike and my young children to do everything. We adjusted, but some things did suffer a bit (dirty bathrooms come to mind). My children learned to serve. That was probably the greatest gift out of it all. I have a greater appreciation for those with long-term health problems.

Who knows, Christian might have to do this some day too. His tumor isn't painful right now, which we are very thankful for.

Good luck! I know how hard it is to stay down. Especially when your head will be planning all kinds of new projects to add to your list. When I was down for a while with my foot I got caught up on my scrapbooking. That was nice. You will be in my prayers and I am sure will find some way to be creative during this time. You can't keep a creative person down for long. Just follow doctors orders so it doesn't end up being a longer recovery. Wish I was there to help. Best of wishes. Love ya, Karie

I pray that everything will go well. You could do a lot of reading, my favorite thing to do. Get better soon.
