Nana's Day - Head board

I haven't post any thing about Nana's master suite lately,
but I have a few posts lined up.
So today I thought I'd show ya her headboard we made.
She didn't have a headboard at all.
She requested a padded one, cause she likes to sit up and read or watch TV in bed.
We started with a piece of plywood.
We had it cut to the basic size at Lowe's when we bought it.
There were a lot of square lines in the room already so I suggested we make the headboard curved.  We used this very fancy tool to get our curved lines.
(Yes, that is a tennis racket we traced.)

Next we just cut it out with a jig saw.

Here she is all cut out.

High density foam is quite pricey,
so we opted for a foam bed pad she already had.
We just doubled it.
(See picture below)

We wrapped the foam and stapled it and then the material.

Simple!!!
I was really hoping for some nail head trim or tufting,
but was out voted by my sister and Nana.

Next we added a cleat across the top and wood blocks at the bottom for spacers.

Here's the Before.

And After.

Next I'll post about the nightstands and then the whole finished bedroom.
Have a good one.

That looks great! I would love to see the nail head trim on it, too, but it's hard when you're working with others on a project. Booooo! Looks great, though, good job!

Much love,

I love it! I would have liked the nail head trim or tufting as well. I am going to be making one of these soon and I love how you used the tennis racket. I will be doing that for sure.
