Nana's Day - Night Stand make over

I know it seems like forever since my last post, but I have been on vacation.
I got my walking boot off and permission to walk (YEAH) the day before we left for Arizona for a week.
I'll post more on that later.

We are home now!
So here's a project we did for Nana's room a little while ago.
She needed night stands so we picked some up at DI for $10 each.
We put risers under her bed legs and now needed to raise her night stands to match the bed height.
Here's the before of the night stands.

We bought some unfinished square table legs at Lowe's cut them to fit.
We cut a piece of mdf for a new top.
Then we drilled holes in the old and new top and the leg pieces, added dowels and glue.
Now she is the right height.

Next we wanted to dress her up a little, so we added some rope trim to the edges.

Looks so much more interesting.

Next some primer and paint and a new handle.
Tada!

Just some more pictures.

I like how they turned out.
What do ya think?
Can't wait to show ya the whole room.

Genius! I love the way you added height. I have a very high bed and can never find stands high enough. I've always pondered ways to add to the bottom of the stand, but never the top. This looks fabulous! ~Rachel
