If You Give a Pig a Pancake

Have you ever read the children's book If You Give a Pig a Pancake?
Here's a video of it if you haven't.

Anyway, that's about how projects are going at our house.
If you give a girl a project she will start it.
Then
she will have a flood in her basement
and think she needs to do another project to help with the mess created by the flood.
Then she will have a garage sale and decide to sell a desk last minute
which will create an even bigger mess in her office.
Then she will start an office redo.

Did you follow all that?
Let me break it down for you.
I started to decorate my bedroom this spring.
I had the main idea,
the crown molding,
curtain material,
and various other items.

Should be a piece of cake, right?

Wrong!

I did rearrange my room to a new floor plan.

I bought some (new to me) old chairs to recover,

and painted the top half of my room.

All this seemed to take forever due to kid's activities,
preparing for Austin's graduation and the visit from Grandma and Grandpa Batchelor.

Then came the flood in our basement.

Ton's of boxes that were being stored down there were then relocated to my living room upstairs.

Then I decided we needed to find a more permanent place for our costumes.

So we started building shelves in our utility room.
After finishing the shelves we decided that space would be a great spot for our son Jaysen to work on his messy art projects.
So we made a plan to build a work bench in there.

Should take us a weekend or so.

But before we got to that,
we had a much needed garage sale.

At the last minute we decided to sell a computer desk there.

So everything that was on, or in, the desk got stacked in the office and living room.

The first rooms you see when you walk in my house
are my office and living room,
and now they look like an episode of Hoarders.
So we decided we couldn't put off the lack of storage in the office any more.
So now we are into cabinet building mode again!

I'll be back to fill ya in on all the office details soon.
But let me leave you with what greets any visitor who enters my front door.

Thanks for stopping by!

Haha. Always the way. At least you purged before you started to reorg. Come to my house and you'll walk into many projects waiting to be finished.

You're not the only one in that boat. I knew my front room was bad when the 12 year old collecting fast offerings looked in the door and said "whoa, that's a lot of stuff!"
Carpet is going in the basement as I type, hopefully it won't be too much longer. for either of us.
