The Office Cover Up or Recycling at it's Best!

Hope you had a Happy Easter!
And I hope you haven't been pranked too much today for April Fools.  Anyways, on to what I was planning on sharing today.
I love to use what I already have, and sometimes that means tweaking it just a little.
Today I want to show you how you can just cover things to make a big impact.
First up is my paint brush can.
It started out it's life as a Pringles can.  But I covered it with black and white wrapping paper and black ribbon about 5 years ago.
(Yes I have lots of brushes in there, they are just short.
It still works great only I was tired of the look and wanted some texture for my new office/craft room.  So I broke out my glue gun and some rope and went to town.
I'm liking the texture and the price, FREE!

Second cover up cost $1.  I had these black Ikea boxes,
(that I got for half off in the scratch and dent dept)
I wanted some color and went looking for wrapping paper or something at thrift stores.  Yes, I found a roll of gingham wall paper for $1; bought it and ran home to cover my black boxes.  I just cut it to fit, sprayed it down with water and stuck her on.
 What do you think?

I love using what I have, and covering it can be an awesome option.
What have you covered up?

Thanks for stopping by!

I try to save things, but people keep throwing them out (Mike). Cool use of recycled items. I'll have to hide my stuff so it doesn't get thrown out. LOL!

I'm the same way, I get tired of having the same things! :) The brush can looked good, but the change is great! I might have to do the same to some black boxes in my daughter's room! I love that gingham paper!

I would've never thought of the wallpaper idea! Is it a leather box or carboard-ish type material? I LOVE it! Thanks for posting at the DIY Party =) Marcy @ day2daySuperMom.blogspot.com

You seem to have a tremendous amount of luck at the thrift stores. I NEVER see things like a roll of wallpaper, and if I did, it would be ugly and probably at LEAST $5! Awesome job on covering the box. I AM wondering however, HOW you handled getting it around (under?) the metal parts.
Oh, and I would NEVER find the boxes in the "as is" section at Ikea, but in all honesty though, I haven't been to that store very often since it's so far away.
