When did My Eldest Grow Up!!

This is the face of my eldest child, Austin!!
Sweet, innocent child!

Then he turned into a TEENAGER!!!
There was quite a learning curve with my first teenager.  I can say I have learned first and foremost not to take things a teenager says personally.  Not so easy, but it really helps.  I also learned friends are important, and I'm so thankful Austin has always had GREAT FRIENDS.
Anyway, my little boy has turned into a young adult!
A young man who knows how to SMOLDER!

I know I'm his mother but he looks just like Flynn Rider, no?

He has more talents than smoldering though.  I know I've mentioned it before but he is a talented improv player.  He was the team captain in High School, but has played at a couple of clubs this last year.  Some of his greatest talent is his artwork.  Here is just a glimpse.

Head on over to his Instagram to see more of his work.

You may remember he did these great drawings for Nana's living room redo.

Lately he has some new ventures going on.  He has pillows, phone cases, hoodies, and more with his artwork on them for sale over at Society 6.  Go check it out and buy something!

Also one of his pieces he has been selected as a possible cover for sketchbooks at Denik Journals. Denik is a great company dedicated to selling quality sketch books and journals while also sending proceeds to help build schools in Africa.  Austin's picture below has been selected to be in the running, but he needs 500 'likes' in order to get the contract.  Please help him out by clicking on this link and hit the 'like' button.  This is one of my personal favorites!!

Well, next week Austin will be turning 19 and starting school at a new college a few hours away.  We will only get to see him occasionally.  He is turning into a great man and a great son.

Happy Birthday Austin!
Love Mom!

I hope your son is pursuing a degree in the arts. He is very talented. If he is and you want any tips to pass onto him, I have my BFA. The first year is a big struggle, but so incredibly worth it.
