Restore- What is it and Why go there!

If you follow this blog you know I'm a Restore lover!!  

Today I thought I would tell you a little more about one of my favorite stores!!  

If you live in Utah, specifically the Salt Lake Valley, this is all about your local Restore.  If you live elsewhere here's a link to find your closest Restore!!

The most often asked questions I get about the Restore are:

 "Where is it?" and "What is it?"

It is located at

What is it?  

Official answer:

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price.  Habitat for Humanity ReStores are proudly owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity affiliates, and proceeds are used to build homes, community, and hope locally and around the world. 

My answer:

A store where you can find treasures to help you build and decorate your home at a fraction of retail price.  Only you have to be willing to think creatively, and do some digging.  

There are many great people who help at the Restore but here are some of my favorites! 

 (I have a few other favorites but they weren't there the day I took pictures!)

Bill is awesome! 

 He is always happy to help me and makes me smile!  Oh did I mention he's pretty much in charge around there?

Erin is so helpful and fun!  I love to go and just talk with her sometimes!  

Kate actually works in the Office side of the building for Habitat for Humanity.  Her official title is Construction Operations Director.  Everyone I have met in the office are super nice.  I include them because they do a lot of work to help needed families get into homes.  You should go here and check out all that they do.  See if you or someone you know might qualify for help, or check out all the ways you can volunteer.   For starters you can volunteer to help build/fix up houses for qualifying families or volunteer to work at the Restore.  

Now you know what they are all about.  Let me show you a sample of what you can find there! 

 (Keep in mind their inventory is always changing!)

Trim:  I love to search through their trim. 

 I have used Restore trim in my Master Bath, the Pirate Room built-ins, and pirate room windows ,my Master Bedroom and the Office. 

Tile: They have tile pretty much all the time; how much fluctuates.  

They usually offer lots of different sizes and styles.  Often there may not be enough to do a whole job, but you can mix and match or buy accent tiles.  We used Restore tile in the downstairs Bath, and Nana's bath.

Lights:  I love to check out there lights, they often have light shades and other lamp parts too!  

We used lights from the Restore in my entry way,  downstairs bath, Nana's Kitchen and Bedroom.

Cabinets:  Right now they have new cabinet fronts and some new whole cabinets.  

They also have a steady flow of used kitchen cabinets and doors.  As well as knobs and handles.  We used Restore cabinets or accessories in our master bath,  the office, the Pirate room, the workshop, soon in our Laundry room and the girls bathroom!!
