Home Show the Story - Part 2

Let's talk about the actual Home Show.
After I finished rehashing stuff, I again set up everything in my garage.
I then spent some time staging it with accessories.
Once I had it the way I wanted it, we packed it all up!!

(If you follow me on Instagram you might notice Aaron Thomas.)
We had two days to set up our rooms.
We picked out a paint color and the Home Show had it painted for us.
Funny, that both rooms were almost the exact same color!

Let's just say the painters were not perfectionists. I spent some time in my room scraping and cleaning paint up off the floors before I could set up!

My garage room didn't really have walls, and once the room was set up, I started to see blank spots and other things I didn't like.
A quick trip home to add to the curtains, paint a few more things, and grab a ton more accessories, and then back to the Expo Center.
After a trial of many combinations I finally made all the decisions as far as what and where to put things on the walls. We got done just in time.
I have to say I couldn't have done this without my little team. My mom, my sister, my son Jaysen, and my husband spent both days helping me with whatever I needed.

Here is the room I was competing with.
I kinda freaked out when I saw this room!
My husband had to give me a little pep talk!!

The next morning I was up early to be ready for live TV on just about every local News Station in Salt Lake.
It was great fun!

I was also able to meet the Property Brothers for like 30 seconds!!
They did not actually judge our rooms, bummer!!

Attendees to the home show were able to vote and a record breaking amount of people did.
It was a long weekend, but at the end it was great to hear,
"You won!"
I received this trophy.

The last night, it was bittersweet as we took the room apart and drove home.
Nothing like making a masterpiece and then taking it down.
I loved doing such an unexpected room with secondhand items.
I really wanted to show that you can create any style for less.
I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the gifts and talents he has given me, and only hope to find more ways to share them.

For now I have put together this video.

Believe it or not I spent just under $400 for this room!!
Just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune to make a beautiful room!
I will leave you with a few more photos.

Thanks for stopping by!

It looks so amazing Ronda! You really are using your talents! I think you need a little more practice though and I'm volunteering my home for you to get all the experience you could want. How's that for friendship! ;)
